Wheeled Armored Vehicles:
HEMA Defense Industries, together with solution partners, has begun the design and production studies on 4x4, 6x6 and 8x8 wheeled vehicles to be produced in Çerkezköy facilities.
The vehicle, to be produced in Çerkezköy facilities which is equipped with the latest technology, has been presented to the authorities of Turkish Armed Forces, and has been demonstrated in Ankara in order to present its off road capabilities to commanding officers.

Main Battle Tank Engine
National MBT Development Project:
HEMA is coorperating with solution partners in order to produce AVDS–1790 engine family in its own facilities by
using local capabilities. AVDS 1790 Engine family consists 750, 950, 1050, 1200 and 1500 hp air cooled engines which are used in MBTs worldwide. The main reasons for the appreciations of the customers using AVDS 1790 engines are being user friendly, reliable, proven in battle field, long economic life cycle and low cost maintenance.
AVDS–1790/750 hp engines have been used in Turkish Armed Forces’s M48 and M60 MBTs for 30 years. The maintenance of 750 hp engines is being accomplished by 1st and 2nd Main Maintenance Center Command Posts located in Arifiye and Kayseri.
Hema Industries has presented the 1050, 1200 and 1500 hp engines to be used in National MBT Development Project, Fırtına Howitzer Logistic Support Vehicle Project, M88 Recovery Vehicle Project and other national defense industries projects.
AVDS engines are equipped with air cooling system which has many advantages.
Air cooling has so many advantages for battle tank engines against water cooling systems:
1. Simplicity: Water and anti freeze liquid mixture is not used. There is no need to put, radiator, water pump, pipes or hydraulic fan mechanism in the air cooling system.
2. Liquid cooling systems have to be cleaned periodicaly to overcome oxidation affects thru system elements. But air cooling has no such problem and system elements have more precise and last longer.
3. Radiators causes lost of cooling liquid which decreases the cooling efficiency and so engine service life.
4. Basically cooling operation directly proportional to minimum and maximum temperature difference carried by coolant. In use of water, maximum temperature can not exceed 100 degrees C (at STP) which is boiling temperature of the water, but air can reach to 238 degrees C, which means that air cooling system is much more effective.
5. Air cooling systems are much more simple and light. For a comparison; AVDS–1790 (1500 HP) which has an air cooling system is 250 kg lighter than MTU 883 which has water cooling system.
6. While MTU engine decreases the power in high environmental temperatures, AVDS–1500 provides constant high power in every condition.
7. AVDS–1500 engine has modular design. Each cylinder is seperate unit. In case of any mulfunction, cylinder can be replaced uniquely instead of replacing all the engine.
Only significant advantage of the water cooling system is their developed design to reach less noise levels and less exhaust gas emission to be used in commercial and public vehicles. But when a battle tank considered this is not an advantage.
HEMA Industry has represented 1050, 1200 and 1500 HP engines to the Turkish Army to be used M60 AMT battle tank modernisation, M88 Recovery vehicle and Fırtına Armory support vehicle projects.

Tank Transmission
Transmisyon:
Hema Industry is cooperating with solution partners for producing TN54e and TN1500 transmissions in Turkey. TN54ET transmission is an ideal candidate for the modernization program of M60 MBTs.
This transmission which is structurally design for extreme climate conditions such as in Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq countries and proven in battle field has similar performance characteristics with Challenger II MBT’s transmission. New structure consists a new transmission box which provides perfect fit to M60 MBT hulls and lowers the cost of hull modification.
TN54ET provides perfect fit with integration of 1200HP and 1500HP AVDS1790 engines.
MBT Suspension
Suspension:
Hema Defense Industry is cooperating with solution partners to realize local production of Hydro gas and Hydro strut suspension systems and to put into service of Turkish Armed Forces. Hydro gas and Hydro strut suspensions are hydro pneumatic suspension systems which have world-wide usage on main battle tanks and on wheeled armored vehicles.
